Nan tours UF's Tropical Research and Education Center

On Tuesday, August 18th, Delegation Members took part in a tour of the University of Florida's Tropical Research and Education Center (TREC) in Homestead with University President Bernie Machen. The TREC is part of UF's Institute of Food and Agriculture Science. The goal of the tour and subsequent meeting was to bring attention the research being performed at the TREC and highlight the need for University resources to improve the facility.

Senator Nan Rich, Representative Julio Robaina, and Representative Luis Garcia, along with several regional agricultural experts spoke about the TREC’s potential as a world class research center - one that could bring jobs and economic development to Miami-Dade County and South Florida.
